EMDR

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy treatment designed to help people process and heal from traumatic memories. It was originally developed to alleviate distress associated with PTSD but has since been used for various mental health conditions.

The therapy involves recalling distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, hand tapping, or auditory cues. This process helps the brain reprocess traumatic experiences, reducing emotional distress and negative beliefs associated with them. Studies have shown that EMDR can be highly effective, sometimes achieving results faster than traditional therapy methods.
